Handmade Birthday Card

This one here was a last minute job requested by my big bro. Had to work with a tight deadline but thank God I managed to get it done in time :)

This handmade birthday card comes with a message that says "On Your Birthday".

I wanted to add more details onto the plain blue paper, so using white ink, I rubber-stamped some heart-shaped patterns onto it.

Because I had little time to make the type of flowers that I normally make (like the ones used in my previous cards), I opted to use purple sequin flowers instead. For the stems, I opted to use gold wire.

Card size: 10.5cm (H) x 14.6cm (W)
Materials used: Cardstock, ribbon, paper, die-cut, sequins, gold wire, white stamp pad

Wedding Card - Cute & Practical

This one here is my first attempt at making a Wedding Card. It was made upon the request of my blogger friend, Twilight Zone.

He wanted a card that:
1) could hold ang-pows
2) have a funny couple holding hands outwide with “congratulations” message

I took his suggestions but incorporated my own style into the card. At the front of the card, I made a tux and a dress to symbolize the groom and bride. I tied them together with a ribbon to symbolize their union in marriage.

To open the card, the ribbon can be untied.

Inside design of the card

Inside the card, I made an ang-pow pocket which I decorated using a pair of rings (again to symbolize the bride and groom) and some flowers. I had rubber-stamped some heart-shaped patterns onto a black paper to help make the rings stand out more. Seen in the picture here is a sample of how to insert the ang-pow envelope in the pocket (had to use an old CNY ang-pow envelope as measurement for the pocket as that was the only one I had).

Instead of the “Congratulations!” message he wanted, I opted to go with “To Have & To Hold, Forever & Ever”. As I had used quite a number of symbols to represent the bride and groom on the card, having “Congratulations!” just didn’t feel like it was good enough. It just didn’t jive with the overall theme of the card.

This card is 21cm (H) x 14.8cm (W) and comes with a white envelope.

Dove Card - Type 3

Custom-made dove card (sold)

This would be my third and final dove-themed card design for Linie. I reworked the first card I made for her and again, kept it as minimal as possible.

For this card, I took away the white lilacs, gold ribbon and the "With Love" message. Instead, I have the 2 doves kissing under a single flower and hanging from the flower is an empty card which she can write a short message if she wants.

Card size: 10.5cm (H) x 14.6cm (W)
Materials used: Cardstock, ribbon, paper, foam sheet, die-cut, sequins, felt cloth

Dove Card - Type 2

Custom-made dove card (Sold)

In the second dove card I was making for Linie, I incorporated her feedback into the design. Being the minimalist that she is (or maybe easily pleased), she wanted a more simple card (even having just the doves will do).

This card says "Ur in my Tots". This card also marked the first time I'm using felt cloth (which btw, I found that felt cloth isn't the easiest thing to cut into shapes with a lot of details. Lol!).

Dove Card - Type 1

Linie requested a dove-themed card, which I ended coming up with 3 designs for her. Here's my first design, which has 2 doves kissing under a ball that says "With Love" (which was my version of kissing under the mistletoe kinda thing).

Custom-made dove card (Sold)

The dotted blue dove represents the guy, while the boxy-red dove represents the girl. I designed them in such a way to make them look kinda yin-yang to each other (as opposed to having a typical solid blue dove and a solid red dove next to each other).

They're both flying above white lilacs. I added the beads on the flower, and used dotted green paper for the leaves to help give the flowers more character.
